The Japanese Medicine: Fountain of Youth

Recent research from the WHO (World Health Organization) have shown that
the Japanese population is the longest in the world.
The most obvious reasons for this longevity are attributable to diet and very attentive to the care of the state of health, headed by an important part of Oriental medicine that is
Kampo Medicine,
defined by the use of natural herbal remedies mixed in food.

In particular, the Kampo Medicine is based on the theory that the onset of the disease is caused by disharmony of the body flows, governed by the lymphatic system and circulatory.
The Kampo medicines thus restoring the homeostasis of the body.
The goal of treatment is to prevent disease by strengthening the body and its defense from germs, toxins and pathogens.
The popularity and validity of the Kampo Medicine is coming up when the scientific world has demonstrated the clear effect of his treatments.
For example, a study conducted in Canada in 1950, it was found that the
Catharathus roseus,
used for centuries as an anti-diabetic, can block the development of leukemia by the presence of its alkaloids such as vincristine. Another alkaloid is vinblastine, which has remarkable healing effects in Hodgkin's disease. The discovery of the application of plants in treating some forms of cancer has led scientists to continue the investigation.
Today we know that
American mandrake, Podophyllum peltatum,
used by Native Americans, is valid for the treatment of malignant tumors, as well as the people of the Himalayas in India they used to use
Podophylum hexandrum,
or the bark of Maytenus Gratius in East Africa,
or the bark of Croton lechler
in the rainforests of South America,
or the bark of Jacaranda Caucana,
very used to treat leukemia,
or the delicious Sanguinaria canadensis,
recently confirmed highly active against malignant tumors.
Finally, in the seventeenth meeting of the International Medical Association 1984, held in Kyoto, Japan, Kampo Medicineis beginning to take on an increasingly significant in the scientific credibility of Western medicine, so that today many doctors practicing Western medicine, Eastern Kampo.
Today the treatment of Kampo Medicine,
handed down from generation to generation over the centuries, across cultures and diverse populations, can cure diseases like cancer, uterine myoma, liver disease, chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and arteriosclerosis, stroke, heart disease, nervous system disorders, obesity, diabetes mellitus, urinary tract diseases, allergies, psoriasis, hemorrhoids, in the hope that the traditional Japanese herbal medicine can make a valuable contribution in defeating the heavy scourge of disease.
