F.A.Q.

The patient
question:
What kind of wine is healthy and good for our body?

FitoNat
responds:
The red wine is left for longer then white to age, so that means the red wine is healthier because the must remains in contact with most parts of grapes rich in antioxidants between 5 and 20 days,: the more time passes, the more the 'grape gives its antioxidants.
The rose wine has only 250-500 mg per liter of polyphenols and age red wines have around 3500 mg per liter.
The best from this point of view we can consider for example: Aglianico, Croatina, Lambrusco, Lagrein, Pinot Noir and Teroldego.
One of the red wines with a higher content of antioxidants is the Sagrantino di Montefalco (Perugia-Italy) in which the concentration of polyphenols comes even 4000-6000 mg per liter, among the highest rates in the world!
From Piemonte ( Italy) the wines Barbera and Grignolino are the richest of hydroxycinnamic acids (antioxidant typical of wine and not grape), while wines from Trento (Iutaly) as Teroldego, Lagrein and Marzemino have impressive amounts of anthocyanins are comparable to those of wild berries (high).
Anthocyanins (responsible for the color red) are absorbed by the liver and kidneys are among the few compounds reach the brain, slowing the degeneration of neurons.
